tinyFE is purely a GUI based tool for loading DOS programs or games with DOSBox. It was designed to be small (~198KB) and simple to use; the jar file can be placed in any folder and it will automatically detect any DOS programs or games installed there with no other required configuration.

tinyFE will find and manage all binary (COM, EXE and BAT) files, text (TXT) files, and image (JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF) files in a DOS program or game directory. These files are updated in real-time; so if a screen shot is taken in DOSBox, or a new text or batch file is created, it immediately appears in tinyFE.

The DOSBox configuration file for a DOS program or game is created from the configuration file provided with the selected installation of DOSBox. A full featured DOSBox configuration file editor is included with tinyFE which supports syntax highlighting, and cut, copy, paste and undo features. tinyFE will also detect DOSBox configuration file changes, and reload the DOS program or game if it is running.

tinyFE was developed under Windows XP SP2, but should work under any OS that supports java 6.0.

tinyFE requires java version 6.0, and DOSBox version 0.72, 0.70, or 0.60 (earlier versions have not tested with tinyFE).
